MILL COTTAGE LOXTON LYRUP 249 kilometres from Adelaide map reference B2 Lyrup was one of 12 settlements established by the South Australian Government in 1894 to create a communal land system, and is the only one of its type still operating in the Riverland. It is also home to one of the four Riverland ferries. This free park includes a maze, leaning towers and other fun activities. Opposite the park is a chocolate shop and a community club for bistro-style dining. Other facilities include a general store and Muller's Meat Store where you'll find a good range of meat and homemade smallgoods. The nearby award-winning Mallee Fowl Restaurant, with its collection of eclectic paraphernalia, is another drawcard. MOOROOK 219 kilometres from Adelaide map reference B2 A short drive north-west of Loxton, Moorook offers riverside camping facilities and a game reserve where you can camp by the Murray River and Waechtel's Lagoon. The narrow creeks and swamps provide important habitats for aquatic birds and animals. The Nippy's UHT plant is located here but visitors can stock up on their favourite juices, flavoured milks and other Nippy’s products from the factory sales outlet in Waikerie. Moorook hosts the Riverstock Music Festival in November on the banks of the river.
